Volunteer Qualifications: There is no any specific qualification required to join Volunteering program with us. Volunteers must have love and passionate about serving life to others who are in need can join volunteering program. We can expect from the volunteers that they must be hard workers, physically fit and good in English.

Visa – All visitors to India need to make visa arrangements prior to departure. We advised to contact the Indian High Commission in their country and apply for a tourist visa before travelling to India. Tourist visas are valid up for to 180 days. Please contact us, if you need any further information on getting the visa. 

 

Vaccinations - Please note that the vaccinations below are recommended not required. We advise you to talk to your health care provider to determine which ones will be beneficial to you. Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Meningitis Japanese Encephalitis, Rabies, Typhoid, Malaria, Tetanus booster shot.

 

Safety - India is a very safe country. Indians are very friendly with foreigners, and treat them with respect. Many people will greet you throughout India with the phrase “Vanakkam” (hello); the most commonly spoken local language is Tamilnadu. Safety of our Volunteers is our first priority. You will get 24 hours support from us.

 

Communication – You will find plenty of internet Centers in Vellore and near about your project sites. You will be able to easily send and receive emails and call internationally from these centers. We can arrange internet facility also in host family but you need to pay extra for your own. If you are coming here for long term bring a cell phone which is compatible to insert a local sim card. Call rates in India is so cheap. Our program coordinator will help you in this regarding.

 

What to Wear/Pack - We recommend wearing light clothing, and short sleeve shirts and pants that cover the entire body. Bring layers for when the air gets cool. Make sure to bring comfortable sneakers or tennis shoes to wear during our service projects. We suggest you wear old shoes, as they will get dirty and dusty. Sunglasses and a hat are also recommended.
